Literacy
In literacy the children read "The Little Red Hen" and sequenced the story using images to be able to retell it to their partners. We then got to make some bread just like the Little Red Hen in our story.
We had a blast
In relation to our spring topic, Miss Nixon's class were asked to write out the items on the shopping list that they are buying from the farm shop. They used their knowledge of sounds and blending to phonetically write the words on the list.
Primary 1 Miss Nixon's class read the story ‘How to catch a star’ and in their table groups, the children were tasked with figuring out the best way to catch a star. They discussed various options and then picked the best way to catch a star. They then acted out their way to catch a star and performed it to the class.
Miss Nixon's Primary 1 children used their phonics and copied words from their day and night topic.
Miss Nixon's Primary 1 class conducted a hunt around our playground to find all of the Halloween items that were linked to the letters we have learned so far in P1.
